Lydiah Nyamisoa Therapist

LYDIAH NYAMISOA, MA LCSWA

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA). I received my education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) and a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW). I have experience working in the human services field, focusing on children, families, immigrants/refugees, and the geriatric population. I have also provided care in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, and integrated behavioral care settings.

I believe that you have your own unique way of expressing challenging issues in your life. In working with you, I will use a combination of traditional talk therapy and creative therapy (art, music, role playing and writing/storytelling), to encourage you to explore difficult thoughts and experiences. My versatile therapeutic approach includes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution- Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness-based techniques, and Narrative Therapy. My goal is to work in partnership with you to identify the root of the presenting problem. Together, we will explore ways in which the presenting problem affect your emotional, social, spiritual, and cultural well-being. As a multilingual /multicultural therapist, I am a strong advocate of diversity in all aspects, and providing culturally informed services to all identities and backgrounds. I look forward to working with you.
