LAUREN GEBBIA, MA LCMHC

Pronouns: she/her, Name pronunciation: JEHB-ee-uh. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (NC, #16629) and a National Certified Counselor (#1601412). I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from UNC-Charlotte and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from UNC-Chapel Hill. My professional background consists of supporting the development of youth and college students in educational, non-profit, and mental health settings.

As a therapist I collaborate with individuals from childhood through adulthood and couples on reaching
their goals for greater wellness. Concerns we address together may include anxiety, stress, depression,
life transitions, identity development, grief and loss, trauma, behavior concerns, career and academic development, or interpersonal concerns. Through an accepting counseling relationship, I support clients in exploring their thoughts and emotions, clarifying their values, and developing skills for personal growth.

My approach primarily integrates Cognitive-Behavioral and Person-Centered theories, and I draw from
Expressive Arts, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused, Narrative, and ACT. I also aspire to provide culturally affirming care and welcome clients to discuss how social identities (i.e. sexual orientation, gender,
religion/spirituality, race/ethnicity, (dis)ability, etc.) may relate to counseling goals, if they so choose.
